Roland Bates - President and Founder
Roland’s focus is on managing National Property Inspections, Inc., and developing long-term planning and goals for the business. He also works hands-on with new franchise owners and helps train them on how to operate and grow their businesses. Roland’s high energy, willingness to work hard and optimistic outlook are the cornerstones of the success for National Property Inspections. His easy manner and family attitude inspire a friendly and close atmosphere at the company.
Before he founded National Property Inspections in 1987, Roland owned a general contracting company, where he worked for eight years as a general contractor. Prior to that, he spent five years as a property claims adjuster and claims supervisor.
Bill Erickson - Executive Vice President and Marketing Director
Bill has been with National Property Inspections since 2001 and has more than 25 years of experience in marketing and sales management and training. He manages the corporate advertising functions and the marketing department at National Property Inspections, and he also works to solicit national accounts, winning business from insurance companies and others for National Property Inspections franchise owners. On a day-to-day basis, Bill handles customer relations, as well as provides marketing training to new franchise owners.
Nancy Resset - Vice President, Franchising
Since 1992, Nancy has handled the administration end of National Property Inspections franchise agreements, working with new franchise owners to outline the details of their contracts. She also helped develop the company’s proprietary inspection software system for the inspectors' field computer system, and she regularly designs enhancements for the software. She provides franchise owners with hands-on education about the National Property Inspections proprietary report-writing software system.
Julie Erickson - Directory of Franchise Sales
Since 1992, Julie has worked closely with all prospective franchise owners to provide them with thorough information about National Property Inspections, its business and its franchises. She works with prospective franchisees throughout the prequalification process and is always on hand to answer their questions.
Terry Wilson - Business Manager
Terry has been with National Property Inspections since 1996 and handles all of the company’s accounting functions, including financial statements, payroll, payroll taxes and royalties. Terry also manages the builders’ warranty program.
Debbie Fibich - Administrative Coordinator
Debbie coordinates the National Property Inspections Annual Conference, which is held each year in Omaha, Neb. In her day-to-day job, she coordinates off-site home inspector special training sessions and ensures that the company’s disclosure documents are updated accordingly with the latest Federal Trade Commissions (FTC) mandates as well as state rulings and requirements. She also processes supply orders for the company’s franchisees in Canada and assures that all franchise owners carry proper and current insurance coverage. She’s been with National Property Inspections since 1995.
Dee Little - Administrative Assistant
Dee processes the National Property Inspections marketing supply orders and invoices the company’s monthly newsletter, “The Inspector.” Her other tasks include research projects, invoicing, assembling training manuals, tracking annual state licensing laws and regulations for the National Property Inspections training courses. She joined NPI in 2006.
Connie Carlson - Administrative Coordinator
Connie supports the franchise sales department, processing all leads and sending out related franchise materials and follow-up e-mails to prospective franchisees. She works with new franchise owners to help them prepare for their training in Omaha. She also orders the tools necessary for the training classes. She is responsible for keeping all franchise information current and up to date, as well as tracking displays and banners for franchise owners’ marketing events. Connie has been with National Property Inspections since 1997.
Kim Gatson - Marketing Coach
As a marketing coach and trainer for National Property Inspections, Kim helps franchise owners develop and carry out their marketing plans. She helps them organize their marketing goals and trains and coaches franchise owners on how they can meet business objectives with strategic marketing.
Randy Yates - Technical Supervisor and Technical Training Administrator
With more than 10 years of experience in his current position and over 30 years of experience in remodeling and contracting, Randy’s main responsibility is to provide technical support to National Property Inspections inspectors in the field once they complete training. He tracks state licensing programs and develops and enhances the company’s training program to meet state requirements. He instructs franchise owners about structure, exterior surfaces and report-writing during their initial training; and later offers guidance through inspection disputes; and develops PowerPoint presentations for continuing education credits for realtors.
Kenn Garder - Technical Support
With an Associate’s degree in building construction and more than 20 years in the residential and commercial construction industry, Kenn provides technical support to National Property Inspections inspectors for residential and commercial inspections, energy evaluations and audits, and home energy tune-ups. He also teaches the commercial segment of the company’s training program. Kenn is a certified building science thermographer, and he helps organize periodic infrared training classes. Kenn has been part of NPI since 2006.
Independent Instructors
Dave McCann - HVAC Instructor
Dave has nearly 30 years of experience in mechanical electrical technologies as well as industry practice, training and consulting. He provides comprehensive training relevant to residential heating systems, from forced-air systems, boiler and hydronic heating systems to heat pumps and air conditioning systems.
Brooke Peters - Plumbing Instructor
Since 1993, Brooke has provided comprehensive training in residential plumbing supply, waste and venting systems at the National Property Inspections Business and Inspector Training Academy. He is a master plumber with nearly 40 years of experience and has more than 20 years of experience as a plumbing contractor.
Martin Conroy - Electrical Instructor
For more than 17 years, Martin has provided comprehensive training in residential electrical systems for the National Property Inspections Business and Inspector Training Academy. A master electrician, Martin has more than 25 years of experience in his field, and has taught various seminars for utility companies for the past 20 years. He holds several professional certificates, licenses and memberships.
Rory Carpenter - Information Technologies Instructor
Rory has more than 15 years of experience teaching computer classes and more than a decade of experience teaching inspector computer classes at National Property Inspections. The focus of Rory’s experience has been in computer networking, networking solutions, system design, installation and troubleshooting. He holds certifications with multiple industry-leading technology companies, including Cisco, Microsoft, Novell, Banyan and Nortel.
